Website Ranker, has compiled a list of 38 of the best The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim “Arrow In The Knee” references. The phrase went viral after being a reoccurring piece of dialogue repeated by Non Player Characters in the recent smash hit game. I am particularly fond of number 2 on the list, the Dubstep Remix Rameses B has done of the phrase. Just before the link I have provided a YouTube video showcasing the origins of the dialogue.

The Senior Community Manager at Bethesda has provided players with tips on how to improve the performance when playing Skyrim on PS3. Give them a try if you are experiencing issues.
1) Turn Off Auto-Save – This will prevent stuttering when moving between areas in the game. If you do this then don’t not forget to manually save your progress regularly to avoid progress loss.
2) Clear up space on your PS3 hard drive – Skyrim tends to run better when there is more free space on the drive. Some users have seen improved performance by upgrading their stock drive with a faster RPM model.
3) Use the wait or rest options in the game when you take a break – By utilising these options, objects loaded from previous quests tend to be cleaned up better. For a full clear up expect 30 days of doing nothing. Realistically the longer you leave it the better your performance will be. Saving, resetting and loading your profile after this period provides the most beneficial performance boost.
Bethesda are working on a proper patch to fix issues but the mentioned solutions may help your playthrough for the time being.

Bethesda have an unfortunate reputation for releasing very buggy games. That trend continues with The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. Since release, Xbox owners have suffered from generally poor game performance and the culprit was found to be players installing game assets to their hard drives. A temporary fix for this issue is to not install the game data and just stream the content of the disc for a better experience.
Another issue arose for PS3 gamers regarding their precious save files. Once a save file accumulates beyond the 5MB mark, users are experiencing in game issues that in some cases make the game unplayable. A temporary solution has been to as always create multiple back up save files but also to exit the game and restart the console which should provide gamers a few hours of issue free gaming before the process has to be repeated.
Bethesda have announced they are working on multiple fixes for the game and the first patch set to release very soon addresses the Xbox issue. PC gamers on the other hand have enjoyed a much better experience. Over a hundred mods have been released for the PC version which actually improve the game performance, visuals and provide additional customization options such as a wider view first person camera.

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is the sequel to game of the year 2007 The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Oblivion was a critically acclaimed hit amongst RPG fans. I unfortunately have never played Oblivion although the hype surrounding Skyrim got me quite interested in experiencing what it has to offer.
