PlayStation Vita Booth
Little Big Planet is one of the most innovate franchises of this generation. It emphasises the motto Play, Create and Share. What better franchise to help the launch of a console with new innovative features.
As expected, Little Big Planet Vita makes use of every form of new input on the device allowing for deeper puzzle integration and more brain scratching experiences. The front touch screen is used to drag objects down to a height Sackboy can jump on to progress. It was also used in spinning a wheel that Sackboy was holding on to. The rear touch was used to push forward a set of piano keys that created a platform for Sackboy to run across. The motion tilt feature was implemented into a basket on a pulley that allowed Sackboy to move across a large gap.
The fantastic bright OLED screen on the PS Vita helped bring out the colourful visual style of Little Big Planet. After playing this demonstration level it was quite clear that the PS Vita deserved its own custom version of Little Big Planet. The game play feels very different to the console games and is worth buying because it is a fresh and independent step away from other games in the franchise.
