Batman Arkham City Story Based DLC

November 1, 2011 in Gaming

In a recent interview with The Guardian newspaper, Sefton Hill (Game Director at Rocksteady) hinted at story based DLC for Batman Arkham City.

Any story-based DLC?

[Smiles] I don’t think I’m allowed to talk about that at this stage.

The prospect of story based DLC is very welcome in the game. Robin and Nightwing have already been made into playable characters although only for the challenge map modes in the game. It is quite likely they will be given their own story arc in Arkham City. You may also encounter new villans from the Batman universe and fans have reported that there are many buildings with accessible looking doorways which are infact inaccessible that could be locations for new DLC.

The trophy available for Calendar Man to visit him on specific dates during the year adds to the fact that the game will be supported well via DLC and keep you playing for a long time.

Nightwing Trailer Batman Arkham City

October 27, 2011 in Gaming

For those who have played the game, you may have spotted Nightwing wondering around the rooftops of Arkham City as a side quest. The trophy and achievement list already leaked the fact that Nightwing was quickly approaching as a playable character in the game.

A new trailer released today shows footage of Nightwing and the unique agile martial arts style he is bringing to the game. In addition he has two electric sticks known as the Escrima Sticks which bring with them new attacks and powers. Furthermore Nightwing will have access to wrist darts and other ranged weaponry.

The DLC pack will feature two bonus challenge maps, Wayne Manor and Main Hall and a Batman Animated Series clothes Skin. The pack will be released November 1st USA (2nd in the EU) at which time I believe the Robin DLC may also be released featuring similar content. No word on the pricing just yet but expect more content in the near future as all the pre order bonuses should eventually become available for download including Joker carnival maps, Penguin Iceberg Lounge maps and all of the various preorder clothes skins for Batman.

October 18, 2011 in Gaming

Batman Arkham City releases later this week in the UK and the press, America and even a few Australians have already got their hands on the game.

Arkham City is a large game with plenty of content, significantly more than Arkham Asylum. Therefore the way you play the sequel will be different. Certain items make a return such as Riddler trophies which you may decide to approach the same way as before.

Kotaku have provided readers with a few useful tips on how to go about playing Arkham City and why certain things should be done first and others left until later. I don’t believe there are any major spoilers in the article for those wondering so go ahead and take a peek.

There are plenty of side quests and small crimes that Batman can deal with at any time.
