An Afternoon At Mont Juic Barcelona In Videos

July 28, 2010 in Eurotrip 2010

Mont Juic is the national park or more natural side of Barcelona. It was a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. The first of these videos shows the grand towers at the entrance to the park with a roundabout fountain and a stadium.

Continuing on up the road we arrive at a palace which is now a museum and look back at the grand entrance…

Today was also the day France were playing a match in the football World Cup 2010. Therefore we came across these supporters beating drums in the streets behind the palace.

We arrived at what we had been told was a live Spanish museum bringing together building and architectural designs from all over Spain. It was alleyways of shops decorated in different styles selling items from those parts of Spain. Amongst these shops we found a glass factory where we witnessed the following local, creating glass sculptured animals.

Continuing further up the mountain we arrived at the Olympic Stadium…

This never ending mountain kept going higher and higher. Once past the stadium we came across a remote controlled arena where a pilot was out flying his minature stunt plane.

Right at the top of the mountain there was a fort. Here we could see the whole city and there was an archery lesson happening in the fort grounds.

Plaza De Catlunya & Las Ramblas Barcelona

July 27, 2010 in Eurotrip 2010

Plaza De Catlunya is a large square at the top of Las Ramblas, the most famous street in Barcelona. Within the square there are two large fountains and a mosaic floor. The video shows the mass amount of pigeons there and the result of what happens when a lady tries to feed 100 pigeons at once!

The second video takes place on Las Ramblas, one of the many street performers there in this case acting like a headless man who is still alive.

Park Guell Barcelona Stairs

The hostel party was preety good everyone just ended up getting wasted. We never ended up at Shoko but just went to sleep. Had to get up early to check out and we had a few hours before our train left so we decided to visit Park Guell Gaudi’s more nature inspired work. When we arrived with our huge bags on our back to discover it was on top of a hill we were gutted but we still climbed up the hill with our bags. At a little supermarket on the hill we bought some bread and cheese and ate sandwiches in the park while listening to a guitar and saxophone group. After an hour or so we made our way to the train station. Our next stop Monaco, was 4 trains away and the first train arrived Read the rest of this entry →
